Scottish Power hikes energy bill by almost $250 a year

Customers in the United Kingdom of Scottish Power would have to pay an extra $250 (GP 200) more yearly. The utility firm announced on Tuesday that its 5 million customers would have to pay 19 percent more on their gas bills and 10 percent more on their electric bills beginning Aug. 1.
